heart collection and felt pouches

some of these heart rocks are quite large...the size of my hand. I thought I would paint them all red and put them in a bowl of some sort. And I made a pouch for my camera (on the left) and one for my mandolin tuner and picks etc.

St Jovite and Mont Tremblant with Nikki and Dan

Mont Tremblant taken from the chair lift we went on (for 10 scary minutes) and a cute building in St Jovite which I really liked but didn't spend enough time in. And some photos of us on the balcony of the condo we were staying in...it was really nice.

I just threw in this photo of a squirrel I took a while ago...a bit blurry.

When I grow up I want to be a Horticulturalist

Some photos I took Friday night of my flowers and herbs. The flowers are looking even better today. I had to move them into more shade, the heat on Saturday made the pansies droop but they perked up again with some water and shade.
The photos look a lot nicer if you click on them.

Sunday Breakfast

We went to a 30th last night and due to a very generous bar tab I had one too many Long Island Ice Teas. I woke up this morning and wanted a giant feed so we went to the Chalk for brekky. It was so yummy - and entirely gluten free! But so much food!
Tom was so cranky he could only eat half his plate - he was very disappointed in the wasted money.

This is what was left on our plates when we had eaten all we could handle.

up in the gatineaux

blue bird and a princess tower...

Some spoils from thrift shopping...like the blue jay plate?

A couple of photos of Donna's place with a cute little birdhouse in the garden. The front door is in the tower and their bedroom is upstairs.

new art class

I am starting an oils art class on Monday...I thought we would still be away so wouldn't be able to do the first class but of course due to bed bugs...!! we are back and I can start after all this Monday. We went over to the art shop called Wallacks this arvo and I bought some oil paints...only 4 colours as we are using a limited palette...which is good. Also got a wooden palette as she likes wood and little clip on pots for cleaning my brushes. It should be fun.

While I was there at the shop, I was looking at some wax encaustic work. It is really nice. Maybe I will be able to do one of those classes before I come back. You need a lot of equipment to melt the wax and keep it melted etc...and it has to be well ventilated but it looks like fun.

Melanie came over for dinner tonite after work. She was happy it is the weekend I think. And I was able to speak to Alex briefly tonite as Don worked that out finally. Al was playing at Eumundi market tho and couldn't speak for long.

I am going to sew tomorrow and muck around with making felt again. I made some last week from old jumpers and I like the result...

The Cottage at Lac Heney

Sunset over the lake, looking down at the little jetty on sunset and the view of the cottage from out in the boat.

We had a great fireplace. I liked the pattern in the fireguard.

Moi, on the beach...not bikini weather.

Looking out some of the old windows in the bedroom and a bunch of wildflowers from around the cottage sitting in front of the living room windows looking out on the porch.

The view from the porch of the cottage.

The cottage with the little beach and chairs in front and smoke coming out of the chimney...cold!!

Ouchies

I cooked salmon steaks with steamed broccolini and mashed potato with fresh parsley tonight.
Very yummy but hot iron splashed all over my hand and arm, it freaking hurts. I also got hot oil all over my new dress that I wore for the first time today!

At least the meal was yummy. I took a photo but I have to wait until I can get on Tom's computer to upload it.

Our herbs are going well and my petunia's and pansies are flowering. They are so pretty! At night I like to turn on the balcony lights and look at my pot plants. I think I could quite happily be a gardener.

birthday flowers and down by the river

the next stage in my painting...the bowl is smaller...roses are exhausting to paint...I have to think so much...
Down by the river...found heaps of heart rocks. I will have to take a pic of all of them together...

My breckie one morning of oat pancakes with a jug of maple syrup on the balcony...nice..

and....my two dozen red roses Don gave me for my birthday..in real life they are much deeper...I don't know why the camera makes them lighter....my knitting is in the photo too with a dragons tear Melanie brought back from Montreal for us...

This weekend we have the big aa conference on...we are 'greeting' so I'm getting to meet heaps of people and I actually know quite a few so it is fun...and this arvo we played with the frisbee out in the sun...love you xxoo
