He's so lovely

Thomas bought me some flowers a couple of weeks ago when I found out I wasn't being made redundant.

Go me!

Flickr-Time

I've finally joined Flickr and started posting some photos. I know I'm going to spend hours just trawling through other people's photos but it will be great for inspiration.

I'm listening to The Beatles - Abbey Road. I love this album.

Check it out:

Dog and Pony

A painting I've been doing for a couple of weeks. It's not that great but it's fun and cute.

My desk is so messy, every time I try to clean it up I just get distracted by stuff that I find. As long as I have room to paint it doesn't really matter for the moment but I know I'm going to start losing stuff soon.

some photos.....

This is the beginning of my second attempt at a vase of flowers...and some lollies called 'saltwater taffy'..didn't like them. And the Romeo and Juliet green tea hearts...in a small bowl with fruit painted on it.

what is left of my birthday candles...a gift from Donna...

just stuff lately

I will have some photos soon from my birthday desert/cake at Melanie's place. We didn't do it on my birthday at the restaurant as it was very crowded and small so she invited us over and she served gluten free date slice with candles on top which was nice. The pics are on her camera.
Tonite we are going to dinner with friends at a restaurant in Fall Down Lane in the suburb of Carp...Don says don't misspell it and say the other word..ha ha.

Alex's Farewell Dinner

The last night before he left Al and I went into James St and got some yummy food with his 'special' discount and cooked up a feast.
It was really lovely.
It was nice having him stay, he's a great house guest. I don't think we've ever eaten that well!
We opened the bottle of Moet that Ray White gave us. Tom and I had to add lime cordial to ours so it wasn't too dry.

We are pure class.

Good Hair Day

Got a haircut tonight. More came off than I expected but it's a lot thicker and full now.

Diary of a Moving Weekend

I have so many photos to upload from the last 6 weeks starting with the moving weekend!

Fuel for the first day!

We have a lot of stuff.

Thank god for movers.

Thanks Ray White.

progression of a painting (collage) - start from bottom

so this is where it is at the moment...I might work on it today so will update blog when I do...it is quite texturey in real life..
Actually if you enlarge the photos you can see the layers...xxoo

so I have really been feeling my way with this one...not sure what I want the end product to be...

started painting at this stage...and wasn't sure where to stop...I really love collage but have figured out that I like it subtle..not staring you in the face..

this is an exercise done in the class last year and I started with her and added lots of magazine pictures and scraps from old books etc..

sunday in canada

so...sunday morning...wild blueberry jam on gluten free toast (or bluet sauvages confiture)...in bed after 2 phone calls to Oz then 20 laps of the indoor pool and eavesdropping on the old Russian ladies...a bit difficult as they spoke in Russian...Later we drove up to Constance Bay and swam in the river..my first swim in it, have mostly swum in lakes...The water was so fresh...at times the treatment plants overflow and the beaches are closed so I checked with Don as to the possibility of 'foreign objects' (yuckie) being in the vicinity...none though luckily...We did some driving around sight seeing - stopped at a yard sale in the little village of Galetta...didn't buy anything and the place reminded me of the Bun...although a lot prettier and greener..but very sleepy and small and 'local'...Then home to the air-conditioning as it is pretty hot here...a Canadian heatwave is happening.....and I was so tired I didn't go to my meeting but went to bed with a book...I want to add it to the blog but can't work out how....it is the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts...So now it is Monday morning and there are incredible cloud formations out there...it is a weird day...almost apocalyptic looking with the huge banks of cloud along the horizon and then dark sky and sun trying to come through. Being on the 16th floor gives a different perspective looking down on the world...Feeling creative today..xxoo

friends in Canada

Dinner at out place Saturday nite...from left to right: me, Mike, Donna (op shopping mate), Dean (celestial twin) and Laura (new friend)...I am trying to grow my hair so it is looking a bit scruffy at the moment...Laura really liked my paintings so I really like her!!

the 'rock'....

My engagement ring...it is a blue topaz and very light and pretty...big and sparkly too!! I had some other photos Don took outside in the sun with it on my finger but I accidentally deleted them...

happy sunny day

Today I'm off to the Imax to see Harry Potter in 3D...yay...it is a beautiful day and this morning I made a gift for you and Tommy boy for your new house...it had to be light as the postage is so expensive from here...I will bring back more stuff for you guys and Al...for xmas too...
Do you recognize the shoes? and the heart photo is supposed to be up the other way...but it is just one of the (many) hearts I saw and found. I brought home about 20 heart rocks and just photographed some like this timber heart.....
