Sunday afternoon

It's Sunday afternoon and Tom is killing people on Xbox while I'm playing with photos from Brady's birthday party. I had a nice weekend, we had a BBQ at Dorothy and Tony's then went out in Surfers till about 10. I was a bit ill this morning but perked up for soccer.

We went to The Fox in South Brisbane for $2 steaks with Lisa and Kiel after soccer. They were surprisingly good and The Fox is so lovely. It was so busy though.

Oh and I love red too. It's my fave.

Aren't we the cutest?

I want to do a large painting of flowers...very soft but with saturated colour.....so these are dead flowers obviously, but I like them too....I also have some pics of peonies which could also choose from..... what do you think? And I found the macro zoom on the camera...
these photos are really nice enlarged....

Do you like this brooch?

Not a great photo...still working on the camera settings...but I was this cute brooch and will buy it for you if you like it....Donna came up with the idea of you previewing it first...even tho it costs all of $6!! ha...

RED

Red is my colour at the moment....so...............dried flowers, my painting of green apples - red background, key ring, tissue box, part of a painting bought in Stanthorpe - Australia, carpet, letters in the kitchen, fridge magnets, strawberries, peonies (pink is sort of red) and egg carton....

It's raining! It's raining!

It's a lovely snuggly cold night and we are naughty and didn't go to the gym. We shook on it that we HAVE to go Wednesday night.
Today was very busy at work so it is nice to stay home and get into comfy jammies and watch a movie.

pretty feet, cold old stanthorpe, lichen and birthday pics

I haven't forgotten the blog Trudes...actually I was relaxing into Canada which means doing nothing much...But I have half a painting on the easel and some others in my head so that is a start. We moved the old bed over to Melanie's yesterday, up three flights of stairs into her cute attic apartment. I need to take my camera and post some photos. My toes are sore from dropping a couple of boards on them....after putting the bed together we went for lunch at a little vegetarian place which surprisingly enough had NO meat...Don was surprised anyway...! Melanie will be giving me French lessons once a week starting next Wednesday...so that means outings to French cafes and shops and I will be the one communicating with the shopkeepers...that will be fun as the French-Canadians seem really nice. I learnt yesterday that a type of cookie is a 'galette'....so we had a galette each....today is Father's Day in Canada so I am making a pavlova to take to a bbq at Nikki and Dan's place tonite....

Birfday!

It's my birthday weekend! Yay!

We had a pseudo picnic at our place yesterday for my 23rd birthday and it was lovely!
I didn't take many photos unfortunately but we had a white tablecloth, lots and lots of food and lots of lovely people.

I was completely spoiled with LOTS of money for my camera and 2 sets of wine glasses (everyone knows how much I break them) amongst other lovely things.

Laura made me gluten free strawberry and vanilla friands that Tom and I are still enjoying.

There were lots of things that made me feel special on my special day:
- Tom surprising me with breakfast in bed and a Thai massage
- Everyone putting so much effort into the food they bought (Sarah's dip, Ree and Yash's sandwiches, Laura's platter)
- Daisy's daughter handmaking me a card and handing me a big bunch of flowers

Today we had breakfast with Dad, Julie and Alex in Southbank which was really yummy and dad gave me gold earrings that he had picked himself, they are gorgeous!

We ditched our boring body corporate meeting to play soccer then had a fun movie afternoon. We watched Bridge to Terabithia and Fifth Element. Both fantastic movies.
I can't believe I haven't seen Bridge to Terabithia before! It was beautiful and so lovely - absolutely a new fave! It looks awesome on Blu Ray, and Zooey Deschanel is completely adorable. Tom said she reminds him of me, which I love him for.

Monday Blues

I saw a possum the other night. They look so funny running along the power lines.
Tom stayed home from work today.
I came home from work cranky and with a headache so I had a nap then Tom and Dinny cooked dinner while I played Xbox. Made me feel better.
We went to the Junk shop in Oxford St on Sunday and I got a book of Endangered Australian Birds. Really cute prints, I'll take some photos and put them up soon.

saw a deer and thought it was a kangaroo....I am jetlagged but can't blame that. My nites are days and vice versa....it is getting boring watching nitetime tv until 5 in the morning. I wake up around lunchtime and run out into the Canadian sunshine....making the most of it! The days are so long here and I like that. Have only seen one squirrel so far...unusual
