About a month ago a group of us went on the second bush walk in the Great Sunshine Coast Walks group...loosely organized by Sandra...12 of us made it up to Kondallilla Falls in Flaxton. Flaxton is in the hinterland of the coast, about half an hour from where we live. It is up in the mountains and the views are spectacular...from up the top we could see surf on some of the beaches.
After about a 2 hour walk we arrived at a waterhole right on top of the waterfall..quite beautiful and well appreciated after a hot sweaty hike. The water was very cold and fresh and it felt superb ...Don loved it. I think it was the coldest water he has swum in in Australia and reminded him on Canada.
This is Sandra, Elena, moi and Col posing for Olga who was taking the photos....
Col thought he would be a clown and put his arm around me for the picture....but this meant that I was slowly sinking with his heavy arm over me..
The feeling of friendship and fun and lightheartedness was wonderful that day....I think we all need times like this to remind us to be child-like occasionally and just play...
