Bits of my Weekend

My clever boyfriend built his own computer yesterday so now I have my own desktop computer! Bye Bye $500 laptop from Canada almost 4 years ago.

He is so very clever but then was crouching over and fell in the washing basket. . .

In other weekend happenings, here are some of my spoils from the first Brisbane Finders Keepers Markets - missing someone's Christmas present of course!

And finally a shot of my Petunia's! They are going nuts! I can't control them but flowers shouldn't be controlled anyway, I like seeing them go a little bit wild and out of control.

My art room is looking amazing, I have set up my table and I have 5 papercuts at various stages of finishnedness waiting for me to pick up my special little blade. I'm wanting to get more and more detailed so I'm not as happy with some of my earlier pieces. I'm currently working on a papercut bookshelf and the titles on the spines of the books are killing me!

Oh and here's a photo of the puppy card I made for Tom's birthday.

bleak october day at home but nice and cosy inside

I was really looking forward to seeing your art but reading your blog was just as good. I really liked the links (in that email the other day) you sent for all the upcoming markets. We'll have to go to some. I think there is one that will be on when I get back. I haven't seen any art over here that is funky and modern like the stuff over there. There is fantastic art of course but different. The thing is affording some of it.

Wet feet sounds yuck. You should have treated yourself to new shoes..haha. And Tommy is cleverer than I thought even!! I wish he was here to fix our stupid skype. Maybe before I come back Don will get it working. That would be fun.

I am thinking again about trying to sell some work when I come back. I don't want to clean..yuck. So I'm working on that idea.

I loved all the photos of Tom's birthday...I had about 12 emails in my inbox this morning and I think 8 were Gemma's comments on facebook on the photos...that was funny. For a minute I thought I was suddenly super popular. But that was fun reading them. I would like to spend some time with you and your girlfriends when I come back. You can drink and I'll laugh.

Less than 5 weeks now so I'm scouting out prezzies...I found something I really liked for Al for his stocking...from the thrift shop for $3...but in Australia it would be in an antique shop...(that makes it better!! hahah) I'll describe it to you on the phone...

so we will talk tomorrow...love you lots..xxoo

Puppy Card

I'm about to go to bed but I just thought I would post a picture of the card I made for Tom. I've been doing lots of papercutting. I can't post any photos of the other stuff as it is all presents!

It's lots of fun and very time consuming. It's so relaxing because that is all you think about. I can sit and do it for 5 hours and not realise until my fingers start cramping.

oh and I'm going to a Halloween party Friday night and my friends Jane's. I'm going to be a flamingo, Ash is a Zebra and Sarah is a Tiger. I'm very excited.

I borrowed an amazing layered pink tulle skirt of Sarah's friend and I have added pink feathers to a singlet, a hair piece and a mask. Now all I need is the beak. I will take lots of photos I promise!

You will have to take some photos of the North American Halloween craziness for me!

I just realised I'm on my laptop and the photo of Tom's card is on his computer. Damnit.
He is BUILDING his own computer all on his own this weekend and I will then have his which is very exciting. I will actually be able to upload photos and have photoshop.
My $500 laptop from FutureShop in Canada 3 years ago is still going strong but isn't capable of everything I need.

I'm off to bed to read Frankie. It poured down when I was on lunch today so I spent the day with soaking wet shoes. I felt a bit miserable and sorry for myself so I treated myself to Frankie.

pretty chairs in someone's garden...!

I was walking past this garden and saw these and liked them...should have brought them home...haha. We are off to the big craft place today. I always like that. It is going to be warm today...I think 11 degrees!!! There is a heatwave coming up in a couple of days...up to 14!!!! omigod. I am homesick every second day now and I'm very much looking forward to coming back. Don doesn't play golf in November so that will help as we can do more together. xxoo

tummy bug...

I have cancelled my day with Donna as my tummy is playing up...It started yesterday and I thought it would be fine when I woke up but its not...oooh. I am sewing some xmas prezzies so I can work on those and some xmas cards and decorations. I am going to make stockings. Maybe out of felt and fabric and a bit retro perhaps. What do you think? Any ideas? The xmas decorations are already beginning to be in the shops so they are all fun to look at. I keep picking up things to buy and then putting them back down again. But I will definitely buy a couple to bring back.

We've been checking out houses and units to rent and there seems to be quite a few to choose from so in a couple of weeks we will start ringing agents. We have to let the northcliffe know if we are coming there or not so we need to start sorting it all out soon.

I was speaking to Al and Sarah on facebook yesterday morning so that was nice when I woke up.

It is cold here today..Don's gone to golf and I just spoke to him at 8.56am and he even said it is cold so to rug up when I go for a walk..brrr...Its clouding over too so that is bleaker...oh well. xxoo

Link Overload

Just one more link before I go to bed . . .

I want to do this! And I certainly don't think it is a baby's room only decoration. Think Tom would let me do this to the office/studio???

Wedding Blogs

I've been blog hopping and came across a few wedding blogs. I was looking at all the beautiful photography and flowers and food ideas and wishing someone I knew was getting married.

Duuhhh!! I almost forget sometimes that my mummy is getting married in February!

I added some links on the side. One Love Photography has some AMAZING photography.

Favourites

I've added some new favourite links to the list on the side.

Plus Etsy item of the moment:

Hello!

Gem took the photo when she came over for dinner one night. The picture is only little, abut A5. It's one of those little canvas pads.
